UMBRELLA OPENS SUCCESSFULLY
PCG's new quality umbrella,
PCG (QU), has had a successful start, generating interest
and a number of new members. The scheme is designed to be
the best possible route for people looking to work through
an umbrella, bundling the advantages of PCG membership
with the expertise of an established employment services
provider.

PCG
AGM
The 2006 PCG AGM will take
place from 4pm on 18 Nov 2006. Please note that the venue
had been changed, it will now be held at the
Thistle Marble Arch, Bryanston Street, Marble Arch,
London W1H 7EH. The formal AGM notice will be issued to
all members in due course.
MEMBER-GET-MEMBER EMAIL RESCOURCE
In looking to spread the word
about PCG and in response to members' suggestions, text
for an introductory email has been prepared. The aim is to
provide members with well written, concise and up to date
wording which they could easily use as the basis for a
email to non-members encouraging them to join. This is a
more personal alternative to using the existing referral
form. The file can be found in the Member Resources
section of the
PCG Library >>
GOVERNMENT BUSINESS SUPPORT SCHEMES
PCG would like to hear
members' views on the numerous business support schemes
currently made available by Government departments. Are
they useful? Not good enough? Totally obscure? You can
have your say by completing a brief
online survey.
PCG EXHIBIT AT PARIS EVENT

and growth plans, representatives from PCG will be
attending the 2006
Expatica Exhibition in Paris this weekend.

REGIONAL MEETINGS
Regional meetings, traditionally known on the forums as "RLMs",
encourage members to socialise, network and discuss PCG
issues. These meetings are open to all members, and in
many cases non-members are welcome to come along too. If
you would like to attend or propose regional meetings,
please post to the relevant thread on the
RLM forum, or email the local co-ordinator.
The
events diary holds information about RLMs and other
PCG meetings, and includes a facility to register online,
where appropriate.

OTHER EVENTS
Skillsmarket iProfile workshops
Earlier this summer PCG met Skillsmarket to raise problems
caused to PCG members by the creation of an iProfile when
CVs are sent to agencies. Skillsmarket have agreed to host
three evening workshops to enable PCG members to feed
