CONSULTATION FOR A BETTER REGULATION BILL
Following the Hampton
and Arculus reports, the Government has
launched a
consultation for a Better Regulation Bill.
PCG will of course respond to this
consultation and would very much like to hear
members' views before preparing a draft
response.
The main thrust of the bill will be to modify
and extend the scope of Regulatory Reform
Orders, by which the Government will be able
to remove and reform regulatory provisions
without having to use primary legislation each
time. Parliamentary scrutiny and safeguards
will remain. The second part of the proposal
focuses on an 'Enforcement Concordat' which
would enshrine principles for enforcing
regulation.
Comments on any part of the proposals should
be emailed to
John Kell. The consultation closes in
October; a draft response will be compiled and
published to members via the forums in
September.

Project Management Training - PRINCE2
Successful contractors know the value of
continued professional development and keeping
CVs up to date. Fifteen per cent of project
manager roles currently advertised on UK job
boards demand PRINCE2 as a qualification. This
is three times higher than three years ago.
PRINCE2 qualifications can be readily obtained
by attendance on a three or five-day course.
The value of these qualifications is that they
tell potential employers that you have a solid
foundation of project management knowledge
that can be readily applied in their
workplace. Therefore, PRINCE2 is a shortcut
for demonstrating your commitment to
professional excellence.
Use the summer quiet period to get qualified
and get ahead of the competition. Maven
Training actively supports members of PCG by
making special discounts available to them.
Join our summer promotion and get a £350
discount off our five-day PRINCE2 Practitioner
courses.
